ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Uludağ University Technical Sciences Vocational School was established in the 1986–1987 academic
year as an institution providing two-year associate degree education, with 177 students and 8
programs, aiming to train the intermediate workforce needed by Turkish industry. It began its
activities under the name Bursa Vocational School, offering both technical and social programs.
While operating under the name Bursa Vocational School, the institution was renamed Technical
Sciences Vocational School as of 1996, in accordance with the decision of the University Senate dated
1995, numbered 95-13/11. During this process, the economic programs were separated and
restructured under the name Social Sciences Vocational School.
In 1989, the school became one of the Vocational Schools supported by the Council of Higher
Education (YÖK) – World Bank Vocational Education Project. Within the scope of this project, the
workshops and laboratories of 23 Vocational Schools and 6 Vocational and Technical Education
Faculties (MTEF) were equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Our school continues its educational activities on the Main Campus of the University, within 8,219 m²
of classroom and laboratory space. The total value of the educational equipment in the laboratories
of 19 programs amounts to 5.5 million Turkish Liras.
The Technical Sciences Vocational School, which began education in 1986 with 7 programs, currently
continues with 19 programs. Since 2001, the school has provided training in 116 different fields to
more than 5,000 sector employees. With 69 academic staff members, University–Industry
cooperation is actively implemented, and great importance is given to continuous renewal in
vocational education.
