About the Committee

The Program Evaluation and Development Committee

consists of the Vice Dean responsible for education, the chief educational coordinator, the assistant coordinator for elective courses, the assistant term coordinators, a faculty member from the Department of Medical Education, and the faculty student representative. Members are appointed by the Dean’s Office. The committee convenes under the chairmanship of the Vice Dean upon the Dean’s invitation, at least three times during each academic year. An administrative staff member from the Student Affairs Office is assigned as the secretary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To receive and review the "End-of-Year Educational Evaluation Reports" prepared from feedback provided by faculty members and course directors to the term coordinators.
  • To evaluate the recommendations from the Department of Medical Education and the feedback reports prepared for courses and clerkships within the curriculum.
  • To determine the starting and ending dates of educational terms and submit them to the Education Committee during the month of April.
  • To evaluate the draft course schedules submitted by term coordinators and present them to the Education Committee within April.
  • To review the decisions of the Faculty Executive Board regarding educational matters and submit relevant recommendations to the Education Committee.
  • To evaluate elective course or clerkship proposals—both within and outside the field—submitted by the elective course coordinator.
  • To assess feedback and reports received from the Assessment and Evaluation Committee and the Student Advisory Committee and present them to the Education Committee.
  • At the end of each academic year, to evaluate educational recommendations received from the Employers’ Advisory Board and the Alumni Advisory Board and submit them to the Education Committee.
  • To ensure the alignment of the educational curriculum with the National Core Education Program (UCEP) and the Uludağ Framework Education Program (ULUCEP).
  • To prepare and present the "Program Evaluation Report" to the Education Committee at the end of each academic year, utilizing all available educational data.
