NEW: APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION FOR THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE PREPARATORY CLASS

For students who will newly enroll or have already enrolled at our university in the 2025-2026 academic year and who are either in a department with a mandatory preparatory program or wish to attend an optional preparatory class, it is important to read the following announcements carefully.
 

1. Please first check whether your department offers a foreign language preparatory class. Click here to view the list of departments that offer mandatory and optional preparatory programs (German, Arabic, French, English).
 

2. Please review the registration and exemption exam calendar and read the announcements carefully. Click here to access the proficiency/placement exam and registration schedule for mandatory and optional preparatory classes (German, Arabic, French, English).
 

3. Click here to access the 2025–2026 academic calendar. A more detailed academic calendar (including module breaks, exams, etc.) is available in the student handbook for each language.
 

4. Click here to apply for the Optional English Preparatory Program.
(IMPORTANT: Applications can only be submitted after the official registration process is completed and a student number is assigned. Applications with incorrect student numbers will be considered invalid. Students who do not apply within the period specified in the academic calendar via this form will not be allowed to attend the optional English preparatory class. Please carefully read the registration schedule, academic calendar, and student handbook before applying.)

7. IMPORTANT NOTES:

a) The preparatory language education (German, English, French) consists of 24 weekly lesson hours, and in the 2025–2026 academic year, 30% of classes will be conducted online (2 days per week).
The use of camera and microphone is mandatory in online classes.
For detailed information about the modular education system, online classes, frequently asked questions, exam dates, etc., please read the Student Handbook for the relevant language on the website, and keep in mind that participation in the orientation program is mandatory.
You may also ask your questions related to the Student Handbook and the School of Foreign Languages Regulations directly to the AI Student Information Assistant (Link). However, please note that the AI assistant is still in its trial phase and may occasionally provide incorrect answers. For critical information such as exam dates, please always consult the Student Handbook directly.

b) The Arabic Preparatory Program consists of 22 weekly lesson hours and will be entirely face-to-face. For more details, please refer to the Arabic Student Handbook on the website.

c) The weekly course schedules, digital platforms to be used, educational system, operation of online classes, textbooks, and all other details will be announced during the Orientation Days specified in the academic calendar. Therefore, no coursebooks should be purchased before attending the orientation. The orientation will be conducted online, and participation is mandatory for all students enrolled in either mandatory or optional preparatory programs (German, Arabic, French, and English). The orientation program and access links will be announced on ydyo.uludag.edu.tr on September 19, 2025.
Comprehensive information about the preparatory class is available in the student handbooks of the respective departments. It is highly recommended to read the relevant language’s student handbook before attending the orientation program.
