Graduate Program Information for International Applicants – Psychology Department, BUÜ

The Department of Psychology opens graduate student admissions once a year. The medium of instruction is Turkish. Students are expected to be proficient at both Turkish and English, as the study materials are partly in English. Each year, when the deadlines for graduate programs are planned, this information is given at the website of the Institute of Social Sciences along with detailed information regarding application requirements: https://www.uludag.edu.tr/sosyalbilimler.
Additionally, a limited number of international students are admitted to our undergraduate and graduate programs through the Türkiye Scholarships program. (For information, see: https://ytb.gov.tr/en/departments/international-students)
The department offers graduate programs in General Psychology at both the master's and doctoral levels. Detailed information on the courses offered in the doctoral program is available at the following website: https://bilgipaketi.uludag.edu.tr/Programlar/Detay/790?AyID=26.
The curriculum primarily emphasizes social psychology and experimental/cognitive psychology. If a student admitted to the doctoral program lacks sufficient background in social psychology, experimental/cognitive psychology, or research methods, as determined by an evaluation of their undergraduate and graduate transcripts, they will be enrolled in a one-year scientific preparatory program.
The department does not offer graduate-level education in clinical psychology. Upon graduation, students are awarded a diploma in General Psychology.
