It has been offering Bachelor's degree programs (since 1990), Master's degree programs (since 1990), and (since 2004) doctoral programs.
The main objective of the Department of Philosophy is to introduce students to the fundamental problem areas of philosophy from the past to the present within the framework of the history of philosophy, to raise their awareness of these problems, and thus to enable them to approach the fundamental problems of our age with a philosophical perspective, using their skills of correct evaluation and consistent reasoning.
The mission of the Department of Philosophy is to lay the groundwork for the establishment of a society composed of individuals who can identify the cultural, social, and ethical problems of the age and produce solutions by approaching these problems with a critical perspective.
Within this framework, the Department of Philosophy approaches philosophy not only academically but also socially; undergraduate and graduate teaching activities and the “Erasmus” exchange program for international students and the “Farabi” exchange program for domestic students are being carried out.

It prepares the “Kaygı. Uludağ University Faculty of Arts and Science Philosophy Journal,” which is indexed by TR Index, twice a year; organizes various meetings and seminars with the “Bursa Nilüfer and Mudanya Municipalities”; and collaborates with various civil society organizations to promote philosophy in the social sphere.
