Department of Endodontics

Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with diseases of the dental pulp (the blood vessels and nerves inside the tooth) and the periapical tissues (the tissues surrounding the root tip), including their aetiology, prevention and treatment.

Endodontic treatment, more commonly known as root canal treatment, involves removing the pulp, mechanically shaping the root canal space with endodontic files, cleaning it by irrigation with disinfectant solutions, and filling it with biocompatible materials that provide a tight seal.
