The Graduate School of Social Sciences(GSSS) was established in 1982, under the Rectorate of Uludağ University, in accordance with Article 19 of the Council of Higher Education No. 2547, in order to provide Master's and Doctorate education based on undergraduate education. The GSSS became operational in the 1982-1983 academic year by launching new Master's and Doctorate programs in different fields of science, as well as adapting former GSSS students.

The aim of the GSSS is to conduct high-level scientific work, produce knowledge and technology, support our national development and progress, and train University graduates to Master's and Doctoral levels, who work or plan to work in various scientific organizations, enterprises and institutions.

The GSSS body is composed of GSSS Committee consisting of the director, deputy directors and institute department heads, and GSSS Board consisting of the director, deputy directors and three faculty members.

The GSSS has 7 departments in Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, 3 in Faculty of Theology, 7 in Faculty of Arts and Science, 2 in Faculty of Law, 2 in İnegöl Faculty of Business Administration, 2 art majors in Faculty of Fine Arts, and 1 art major in Conservatory. In total, the GSSS has 21 departmants and 3 art majors, along with 8 interdisciplinary departments.
