Academicians working in the Medical Oncology Department of Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ)  made a call to COVID-19 cancer patients. Prof Dr Türkkan Evrensel, Assoc. Dr. Erdem Çubukçu and Assoc. Dr. Adem Deligönül said in a joint statement : "During the vaccination process, patients who have received cancer treatment and are still under treatment, which our Ministry of Health has included among the priority groups, can get the COVID-19 vaccine in consultation with their physicians".

The academics stated that Cancer Week events will be held while the COVID-19 pandemic process continues; “Unfortunately, the pandemic process caused serious health problems and patient losses all over the world. The methods applied in combating the pandemic have been effective. However, the measures implemented caused delays in cancer screening and diagnosis tests due to problems in areas such as economy, education and tourism. In this process, we will win our fight against the pandemic with the development of the vaccine and the conscious application of protection methods ”.
