AI-Assisted Pattern Design Workshop Successfully Completed

With the contributions of A.I.T. (Advanced Information Technologies), a well-established company in the digital printing industry, a workshop entitled “Pattern Design and Production Preparation Using AITools” was organized for the students of our Department.

The workshop, which aimed to help our students enter their professional careers as better-equipped engineers, commenced on 30 April 2026 and was completed through weekly two-hour sessions. The workshop was entirely practice-based and was delivered by Umut S. Çeliker and Emre Korkmaz from A.I.T.

During the workshop, students had the opportunity to develop original and innovative textile patterns by integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the design process. In addition to gaining practical experience with digital production tools, the participants also acquired comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental principles of textile design.

By the end of the workshop, the students had gained valuable knowledge and skills in the following areas:

• The significance of conventional and digital printing in the textile industry

• Pattern design and pattern preparation processes

• Effective use of AI-assisted design tools

• Development of original textile patterns and collection concepts

• Adaptation of designs to different products and customer requirements

• Development of skills in motif structure, pattern construction, and composition

• Understanding the principles of seamless repeat pattern preparation

• Application of technical preparation processes suitable for production

• Colour, quality, and printing optimization

• Visualization of designs on products and preparation of professional presentations

• Combined evaluation of traditional design approaches and AI-assisted production processes

Approximately 20 students participated in the workshop, and certificates of participation were presented upon completion.
