The “Teaching Table Tennis to 3 Million People” project, initiated to promote table tennis in Bursa, has officially launched with wide participation. The project is coordinated by Associate Professor Canan Bastık Salkım, Bursa Table Tennis Provincial Representative and faculty member at Bursa Uludağ University’s Faculty of Sport Sciences. It is carried out in collaboration with the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the Bursa Provincial Directorate of National Education, and Kestel Municipality.
At the event held on April 22 at the Kestel District Stadium, hundreds of young people supported the project by playing table tennis. Organized as part of World Table Tennis Day celebrations, the event aimed to introduce table tennis to a broader audience and to raise awareness about sports.
During the event, table tennis specialization students from the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bursa Uludağ University also took part by assisting young participants. The head of the department, Professor Şerife Vatansever, also attended the event and joined in the enthusiasm.
Officials stated that through this major project, they aim to bring table tennis to all segments of society and to promote a widespread sports culture.
