TOURISM GUIDANCE STUDENTS EXPERIENCED MARBLING ART (EBRU) ON SITE

Second-year students in the Tourism Guidance Program undertook a meaningful field trip as part of the Turkish Culture and Arts course. Under the guidance of the course instructor, Assoc. Prof. Dr Ayşen ACUN KÖKSALANLAR, the students visited BUSMEK to learn about the traditional Turkish decorative art of marbling (ebru).

During the visit, students received detailed information from expert instructor Elif AYDIN about the history of marbling art, the materials used, and the stages of its creation. Following the theoretical presentation, the students participated in a workshop, gaining the opportunity to experience the art of marbling firsthand.

Thanks to this hands-on training, students were able to closely explore marbling, a significant aspect of Turkish culture and art, while enhancing their professional knowledge and practical skills. The event was met with great interest by the students and contributed to learning about cultural heritage on-site.
