Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with İnegöl Municipality to bring the İnegöl Campus up to modern education standards and raise the academic bar in the region. Under the project, which will be implemented using the “On-Site Transformation” model, the existing campus will be reinforced against earthquakes and enriched with new faculty units.
The signing ceremony held at BUÜ İnegöl Business School was attended by İnegöl Mayor Alper Taban, BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Cafer Çiftci, İnegöl MYO Director Prof. Dr. Hikmet Sami Yıldırımhan, deputy mayors, department heads, and administrative and academic staff.
“A CAMPUS INTEGRATED WITH THE CITY FOR QUALITY EDUCATION”
In his speech, İnegöl Mayor Alper Taban stated that the modern university project, which the city had been waiting for for years, had taken a concrete step forward with this protocol and that the support of the Bursa Uludağ University administration during this process was invaluable. Stating that the priorities are not only physical growth but also academic quality and producing high-quality graduates for the business world, Taban noted that the campus's structure, integrated with the city in terms of transportation and accommodation facilities, is a great advantage. Mayor Taban emphasized that the ground studies and planning work carried out with the support of the municipal council will form a solid foundation for the university's future growth.
“WE ARE BUILDING A MODERN EDUCATION AREA FOR İNEGÖL”
Referring to the academic vision of the project at the signing ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz stated that this strong collaboration established with the Municipality of İnegöl will take the campus to a much higher level. Drawing attention to the strategic importance of the current campus for the university and İnegöl, Rector Yılmaz stated that with this protocol prepared as part of the second phase of the project, the buildings will be renovated in line with modern educational facilities and earthquake safety will be prioritized. Emphasizing that they always feel the support of the Municipality of İnegöl, Yılmaz added that they hope to jointly inaugurate this new campus, which will be built through collective effort.
The signed protocol aims to transform the existing area of the İnegöl Campus into a modern, high-quality university campus integrated with the city. In the next stages of the project, the opening of the renovated buildings is also planned to be held together.
