BUÜ Academic Receives Prestigious Award

Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ömeroğulları Başyigit was honored with the “International Collaboration Award” at the ITMF & IAF Annual Conference 2025 for her role as project leader of the “ReMODE” project.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ömeroğulları Başyigit, a faculty member of the Textile Technology Program at BUÜ İnegöl Vocational School, won an award at the ITMF & IAF Annual Conference 2025, organized by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and the International Apparel Federation (IAF) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, this year. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ömeroğulları Başyiğit's work was selected from over 90 projects worldwide in the international project competition held as part of the event and was awarded the “International Collaboration Award.”

PROJECT MAKES A SPLASH IN THE GLOBAL TEXTILE SECTOR
Providing comprehensive information about the award and event process, Başyiğit emphasized that the innovative approach and sustainable transformation vision of the project would contribute not only to academic studies at BUÜ but also to the textile sector. Assoc. Prof. Başyigit also thanked the representatives of the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Association (ITKB), the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association (IHKIB), and the Turkish Textile Industry Employers' Union for their unwavering support throughout the event. Başyiğit stated, “I am honored to share the pride of representing our country and our university on the international stage.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ömeroğulları Başyigit to his office and congratulated the academic on her award. Pointing out that BUÜ, which is in the research universities category, focuses on high-quality projects and studies, Rector Yılmaz said, "We are pursuing high-quality work on a national and international scale. We are all doing our best to get our university to where it deserves to be. Our Professor Zeynep has also taken on the leadership of a valuable project in this regard. Her award has made us very happy. We wish her continued success."
