Buu Continues Its March To The Top With Tubitak 1001 Projects

The evaluation results for the first phase of the "1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program," conducted by the TÜBİTAK Research Support Programs Directorate (ARDEB), for the year 2026 have been announced.

Bursa Uludağ University (BUU) maintained its top position among higher education institutions in Turkey with the number of accepted projects. In this period, where a total of 528 projects will be funded nationwide, 9 high-quality projects prepared by BUU academics were deemed eligible for support.

NINE SCIENTISTS FROM DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES LEAD THE WAY
The projects, which showcase BUU's consistent performance in scientific research and project development, were led by academics from 4 different faculties and 1 vocational school. These include Prof. Dr. Ferda Arı and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ from the Faculty of Science and Letters, Prof. Dr. Abdulbaki Bilgiç from the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Fahir Özkalemkaş and Research Assistant Dr. from the Faculty of Medicine. Ceren Oy, along with Prof. Dr. Murat Kankal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Bilgin, and Dr. Hakkı Özer from the Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seçil Aksoy from İnegöl Vocational School, participated as project leaders in the studies.

Making an assessment regarding the achieved success, BUU Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz stated that they are proud of BUU's rise in the scientific field. The fact that nine of our projects have been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 program clearly demonstrates the potential of our academics to produce world-class projects and our scientific productivity. These achievements from different disciplines will make significant contributions to the scientific development of both our city and our country. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our academics whose projects have been accepted and wish them success in their work. As the administration, we will continue to stand behind and support all our professors who produce scientific work," he said.
