THE NUMBER OF SUCCESSFUL ACADEMICS AT BUU IS INCREASING DAY BY DAY

The tradition of presenting certificates of achievement to the academics who publish the most each month continues, thanks to an initiative launched by Bursa Uludağ University (BUU) R&D Coordinatorship.

BUU, one of the 23 research universities in Türkiye and striving to climb to higher positions in this list, held a comprehensive award ceremony in March for the academics who contribute to the university through their projects and publications.

“The quantity and quality of our publications are increasing”
Speaking briefly before the ceremony, BUU Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz said, “Our university is competing in rankings both in Türkiye and globally, and we are making a serious effort to advance in this competition. We are doing this together with our entire academic staff. When everyone contributes, success naturally follows. We have started to see the fruits of academic progress, and this makes us all very happy. The number and quality of our projects and publications continue to increase day by day. Although our project acceptance rate is currently at the national average, we believe the numbers will rise significantly with the support of our project office. This momentum, which reveals our university’s already existing potential, is helping revive our research culture. We sincerely thank all our academics for their support and efforts.”

“Every scientific activity adds value to our university”
BUU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu stated, “We are truly pleased to see such a large crowd in the hall. This is an indication that our university’s publication performance is improving in quality. This also signals that we will hold a strong position in the research university league, because every scientific activity will be recorded for our university. Regardless of conditions, this will elevate our university’s overall quality. You are putting forth significant efforts for this, and for that, I thank each of you individually.”

“We closely monitor the data”
R&D Coordinator Prof. Dr. Esra Karaca said, “To ensure that your productivity and efforts are recognized, we wanted to initiate such an event together with our university administrators. We continuously monitor WoS and AVESİS, and obtain patent data from our Technology Transfer Office. For projects, we collect data meticulously from our Strategy Development Department. We do not want any effort to go unrecognized. For March, we reached highly valuable numbers once again. We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to this success.”

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of achievement to academics who stood out through their Q1 publications and project work.
