The EMBO Young Investigator Program provides support for young group leaders working in the life sciences field, enabling them to develop independent laboratories for a period of four years.
Managed by TÜBİTAK in Turkey, the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) runs various scholarships and support programs for scientists working in the life sciences field. These programs, financed by the countries that are members, associate members, and cooperating countries of the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC), offer researchers grants, mobility, and scientific networking support.
With the EMBO Young Investigator Program, the most successful young group leaders working in the life sciences field in EMBC member or cooperating countries are identified, and they are offered grant support and scientific networking opportunities that significantly contribute to their career development.
Key Information:

Applicants must have worked as independent group leaders for at least 1 year and a maximum of 4 years.

Applicants must have established research laboratories in EMBC member or cooperating countries.

Research areas must align with EMBO’s fields of study.

The program duration is 4 years.

The award recipient will receive €15,000 in the second year of the program and can apply for a grant of up to €10,000 annually if desired.

The award recipient will have access to EMBO’s scientific networking events and support for organizing conferences.

The award recipient will receive mentorship from an EMBO member and support for participation in laboratory leadership courses organized by EMBO.

The award recipient will have access to the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).
