The eighth session of the “Meeting of Successful Academicians with the Rector,” traditionally organized by Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) R&D Coordination Office, was held.
BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu and Prof. Dr. Cafer Çiftci, R&D Coordinator Prof. Dr. Esra Karaca, deans, department heads, and academic and administrative staff attended the event held in Rectorate Hall B.
“IN TERMS OF GROWTH RATE, WE ARE AHEAD OF ALL”
Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz expressed his satisfaction with the continuously increasing number of participants and the university’s rising scientific indicators. Stating that BUÜ is progressing faster than its competitors, he said:
“We are in a qualified competition. There is a collective effort to produce more comprehensive scientific work, develop high-quality projects, and improve the quality of our universities. All universities are involved in this competition, and research universities push themselves slightly more. We closely follow one another. We observe what other universities are doing. Everyone is making moves and doing their best.
However, in terms of the growth rate of projects and publications, thankfully, we are ahead of all. Hopefully, this will continue, and we will further strengthen our place among the 23 research universities in Türkiye. I sincerely thank our academicians for their invaluable work, projects, and publications. Together, we will elevate our university to the level it deserves.”
RECORD INCREASE IN Q1 PUBLICATIONS
BUÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu noted that the rise in Q1 publications demonstrates the strength of the university:
“We have achieved a significant institutional momentum. The quality and number of our publications increase every month. This proves that our efforts are paying off. A positive environment has been created, and we can observe the determination and enthusiasm across all units. Our faculty members are doing their best.
From the very beginning, we have emphasized that these efforts must continue consistently. The rising monthly numbers show that this consistency has been achieved. We extend our thanks to everyone who has contributed.”
R&D Coordinator Prof. Dr. Esra Karaca also shared the news that a new record had been broken this month with 37 Q1 publications. She stated that around 70 academicians take part in monthly project and publication production, noting that this is the highest participation recorded so far.
The event concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates and the sharing of participants’ views.
