On April 11, 2026, the traditional 13th German Teachers' Day was held in Istanbul at the IELEV Schools in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. This year's theme was "From Practice to Action: German Language Teaching That Makes an Impact!" The event focused on a question that is highly relevant to everyday classroom practice: How can language teaching move beyond mere practice and enable learners to use German meaningfully in real-life situations?
As part of the program, Prof. Dr. Anastasia Şenyıldız delivered a keynote address, providing valuable insights into contemporary, action-oriented German language teaching. Participants then had the opportunity to explore these ideas further in a series of workshops, where they developed practical, classroom-oriented approaches that they could apply in their own teaching.
The workshops were attended by numerous German teachers from various cities, as well as our research associate Nurseza Keleş and our master's student Alara Merve Minare.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the IELEV Schools for their excellent organization of this event and look forward to future collaborations.
