SPORT ACTIVITIES
Sport activities in our university
are organised by the Head of the Department of Physical
Education and the Office of Medical, Cultural and Sports
Affairs. Under the supervision of Physical Education
Department’s lecturers, each semester, fencing, archery,
tennis, roller-skating, body fitness, aerobics and badminton
courses are offered free of charge. Approximately 2000
students are attending these courses. In addition,
the Physical Education Department organises trekking activities,
and tournaments for street basketball, football and
table-tennis.
Our university gives great importance
to sporting activities for students’ physical
and psychological health. Every kind of infrastructure
and sporting plants are available for such activities.
These are a grass football field, 2 earth football fields,
4 illuminated earth tennis courts, 2 asphalt tennis
courts, 2 covered tennis courts, 5 open asphalt basketball
courts, 4 covered gyms, an athletics track, a cross
track. A covered swimming pool and a tartan track is
still under construction.
Our students represent our university
in the best possible way in national and international
sporting events: handball, basketball, football, volleyball,
table-tennis, wrestling, athletics, cross-country race
and skiing. These activities are carried out by the lecturers
of the Physical Education Department of our university.
Uludað University has been participating
in basketball, tennis, weight-lifting, fencing,
athletics, handball and football games since the
establishment of the University
Sport Club.
Every year in July- August, a summer
school for children between 7-14 years old is organized
under the supervison of the lecturers of the Physical Education
Department, and with the contribution of lecturers of
the Music and Art Department of the Education Faculty.
