DEVELOPED AGAINST VIRUS IN BURSA

 

The nanotechnological solutions developed by Op Dr Ahmet Ümit Sabancı, who works in Bursa  with a group of faculty members, were reported to be effective against the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19). These solutions were put into use as nasal and mouth spray.

Working as an Orthopedic Specialist at Bursa Çekirge State Hospital, Op. Dr. Ahmet Ümit Sabancı's virus-killing solution project was develope with collabotaion of  BUÜ Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology, Prof Dr Cüneyt Özakın, Faculty of Medical Genetics and Translational Medicine, Associate Professor Şehime Gülsün, and Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Genetics. It was developed and turned into a spray product with the contributions of Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atıl Bişgin. The nasal and mouth spray, which was found to be effective in a preliminary study conducted by about a thousand people, was offered for sale in the pharmacy and on the internet after the anti-microbial activity analyzes and related permissions at Uludağ University. Prof. Dr. Şehime Gülsün Temel, who made a speech at the introductory meeting held at BUÜ Medical Faculty Medical Microbiology Department Hall, said that the solution developed with the study was effective against Sars Cov-2 virus.

Explaining that the product does not harm human cells and epithelial cells in the mucosa, Temel said, "We have even shown that it has a healing effect on these cells. This means that it can be used safely because it does not harm human cells."
