The application made by Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) to the Higher Education Council (YÖK) for the establishment of the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts was approved. In the department to be established under the Faculty of Fine Arts, branches of traditional Turkish arts such as illumination, miniature, marbling and tile will be established.

The request of BUU to establish a Traditional Turkish Arts Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts was accepted by YÖK. The proposal of the university was considered and deemed appropriate at the Higher Education Executive Board Meeting dated December 9. According to this; Within the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts and the Departments of Illumination-Miniature and Marbling, Conservation and Repair of Portable Cultural Heritage, Calligraphy, Tile and Tile Repair and Binding will be opened.
