IMPORTANT COOPERATION IN ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES

Bursa Uludag University (BUÜ), Bursa Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation operating under BUTGEM and Turkey Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Association (TEHAD) cooperation signed a protocol about electric and hybrid vehicles.

A cooperation protocol was signed between BUÜ, BUTGEM and TEHAD for the purposes of localization, technology, capacity and human resource development for the automotive supply chain. The protocol signing ceremony held in the Rectorate Building was attended by BUU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz, BTSO and BUTGEM Vice Chairman Cüneyt Şener, TEHAD President Berkan Bayram, BUÜ TBMYO Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan, academicians, educators and students.

WE WANT TO MAKE BURSA THE TRAINING BASE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Speaking at the signing ceremony Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz said "We have signed a protocol which is very important for Turkey. We are the first university in Turkey to have a two-year program at Technical Sciences Vocational School which aims to train the technical staff to take part in the production of Turkey's car TOGG. We will start our classes in this department as of October 1, by activating the two-year Hybrid and Electric Vehicles department, where students are placed with a score higher than the base score of Engineering Faculties of many universities. We received the necessary approval from YÖK for opening the same department in Gemlik Asım Kocabıyık Vocational School. I hope we will take students here next year. Bursa was selected as the center for the automotive and automotive engineering department so Technical Sciences Vocational School and Gemlik Asim Kocabiyik witll be tthe training base of this work.". Making statements about the Automotive Enterprise Group they formed within the university, Prof. Dr. Kılavuz added; “With a group we call the Automotive Enterprise Group, which meets once a month, we are working on this field with more than twenty professors, including people who have worked on electric vehicle batteries. This brand suits Bursa. Bursa Uludağ University shows its best efforts to contribute to this brand. With the protocol we signed today, with BUTGEM and TEHAD, we signed the will we put forward in the field of master and apprentice training in the field of non-formal education as well as in meeting the need for intermediate staff. I wish it would be beneficial for our Bursa and our country ”.

 

THE CAPITAL OF BURSA AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

 Vice Chairman of BTSO  and BUTGEM Cuneyt Sener stressed that Bursa is one of the cities which hasTurkey's guiding vision. In 1961, Turkey's first organized industry established in Bursa , as the first automotive investments in the country. Cüneyt Şener noted that with the domestic automobile project, the foundations of the transformation in the automotive sector will be laid in Bursa.

WE WILL SHARE BUTGEM'S EXPERIENCE WITH THE SECTOR

Pointing out that the most important factor that will carry the domestic automobile to success is human resources, Şener said: “It is our responsibility to train human resources that will adapt to new technology and new production styles. Bursa Uludağ University is a very competent university in this regard. Since the first day, it has made an important effort in this regard and created the necessary infrastructure. As BTSO, we are initiating an important work with this protocol in order to provide the long-term need for qualified personnel in the non-formal education concept through BUTGEM. With the contribution of TEHAD, we aim to train the qualified workforce needed for electric vehicle production. I wish our protocol, which will play a very important role in achieving high technology and high value-added production targets of our city and country, will be beneficial. "
