Innovations at the 3rd Call Period of HEC 100/2000 PhD Scholarship Program

Considering our country’s goal to be one of the 10 major economies in the world in 2023, and with the knowledge that it can be possible with qualified information production and qualified human element, the HEC 100/2000 PhD Scholarship Program was launched in 2017 to support the students who attend the doctoral programs in state universities in order to meet the need for doctoral human resources in priority areas.

IT WAS FIRST GRANTED LAST YEAR

This program is a first for our country with its purpose, design and processes. Within the scope of this program, it is aimed to support 2000 doctoral students who study at state universities in 100 priority thematic areas that will be needed in the next 10 years in terms of global competition of our country, taking into consideration the global trends, the common and long-term goals of our country and the proposals of higher education institutions and academicians and academicians.

The first call was made in the spring of 2016-2017 academic year and approximately 1250 students were awarded scholarships at the end of the first two call periods in this program.

ADDING NEW FIELDS

During the 3rd Call Period of the 100/2000 HEC PhD Scholarship Program, 30 of 100 areas were renewed considering the requests from our related stakeholders. Newly added fields include Cyber ​​Security, Cryptology, Artificial Intelligence, Photonics, Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Liquid Treatment Technologies, Food Safety and Food Assurance, Neurogenetic, Translational Medicine, Molecular Pharmacology and Drug Research, CBRN Studies, Science and Technology Policies, R & D Management, and Supply Chain Management.

HUGE DEMAND (3200 APPLICATIONS TO 2000 QUOTA)

The evaluation process of applicants made by universities after the 3^rd call period has been completed. Approximately 2000 of the 3200 quotas requested by 75 universities will be supported.

SCHOLARSHIP FEE RISES UP TO 2000 TL

100/2000 HEC PhD scholarship students will be granted scholarship for 4 years. The amount of the scholarship was 1800 TL per month in 2017. The amount will rise up to 2000 TL, effective from March 2018.

WORKING STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE GRANTED THE SCHOLARSHIP

There is great demand for the scholarship from the business world. Within the scope of these requests, an arrangement has been made for inclusion of working people. Therefore, 500 TL per month will be paid to doctoral students who work.
